On Friday, all the teams will get the chance to test a new version of the C2 compound, with a view to homologating it for next season. This latest evolution should provide more grip than the current C2, and so fit in more coherently between the C1 and C3. For the first two free practice sessions, each driver will have two additional sets of tyres, compared to the usual 13 sets per weekend. This test is part of a development programme that was recently defined for 2024 and will continue with a new C4 compound to be tested on track during the Mexican Grand Prix weekend

Verstappen is just ridiculous. The fact that Perez is behind one Ferrari tells you everything. For all his fault, Perez is not an amateur, and he looks like one in comparision with Verstappen.

Another impressive showing from the McLarens, especially Piastri, and also Tsunoda in his home race.

Decent race, tyre management and strategy again playing big part.

Ferrari back to slow again, they couldn't improve time on new mediums with cars on old hards, pretty amazing stuff.

Brilliant to see Piastri get his first podium.

What an absolutely appalling race from Perez. That second incident of his with Magnussen was a sign of a desperate man who knew he had to overtake but just couldn't do it. Terrible driving. And then he had the ignominy of having to retire twice!

By the way, that seems like a big loophole in the rules there, allowing a car to come out and serve a penalty so it doesn't roll over into the next race, even though you retired the car. That should not be allowed.

Pleased that McLaren are doing well, they have a car that's in most other seasons would have won multiple races by now.
