Enjoying it, mad to see how difficult the cars seem to drive compared to the way they were last season. Seeing Mercedes down the timesheets is giving me early but cautious hope, same with seeing Ferrari at the top. A season-long duel between Sainz and Leclerc, with Verstappen and Hamilton in the mix too, would be awesome. Saying that would also like to see McLaren and maybe the odd Alpha Tauri win.

Disappointed with Alpine so far.

The Mercedes really did look a handful to drive. The kind of stuff that's impossible to hide and sandbagging speed is no good. They looked woeful on the straights with high down force.

How long is it since the last time we see so many different looks of car? The 2000s and 10s almost all of them looks the same anyway.

Another disaster of a season for Alpine coming up. They really are such a poor team.

The FIA have confirmed that 'human error' was a factor in the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP title controversy, but say race director Michael Masi acted in 'good faith' and that the results from the race and championship are 'valid'.

The latest rumour, Audi wants a full works team of their own for the 2026 season.

Would VW really allow Porsche to enter as an engine supplier to Red Bull for example with a full Audi F1 works team already in the pitlane? Sounds counterproductive for VW.

Still a long way to go till 2026 regulations are finalised.

Carlos Sainz has signed a contract extension with Ferrari, keeping him at the team until the end of 2024.

Happy for him. Seems like a really likeable guy and is settling into a great no.2 role at Ferrari this season. I'd love to see him do a Rosberg at some point, but it appears that Leclerc has the pace on him this year at least.

It's looking like there could be a mid-season sacking in the form of Daniel Ricciardo if his performances don't improve..

He just hasn't hit the same form as he did during his days at Red Bull, and arguably Renault. Whether it's the car, the team dynamic, or just a confidence issue.. He's been given the time, and McLaren haven't really been rewarded for their patience other than a solitary win. Zak Brown has even stated that he has "not met expectations".

The question is whether he retires from the series after a healthy payout, or remains in the sport with an uncompetitive outfit, though unfortunately even those opportunities are few and far between. Maybe Williams or Haas (after outing a driver of their own)? Also, who would McLaren draft in to replace him at short notice? Maybe their test driver Colton Herta if he can get out of his other racing commitments for the remainder of the year, or super-sub Nico Hulkenberg - though surely he deserves more than these temporary outings that he's getting..

After years of watching Ricciardo, I classify him as a "one style" sort of driver. I think his troubles stem from driving based on feeling 90% of the time and if that car doesn't feel good, he is lost. At Renault, it took him to get up to speed but he eventually turned things around.

He probably needs to find the limits of this car. I get the impression he lacks confidence in the car and thinks he will crash if he drives the way he feels comfortable with. (Kinda similar to Sainz at Ferrari, but it seems like Sainz has a longer leash than Ricciardo does at the moment though. Ricciardo is between a rock and a hard place and might not get time or turn things around.
