Not according to Oscar Piastri

"I understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release late this afternoon that I am driving for them next year. This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for Alpine next year".

Amateur stuff from Alpine. Bizarre to announce this if he hasn't been consulted or agreed to it.
Piastri better have a drive lined up for next season otherwise he's really shot himself in the foot. Some unfounded rumours he will go to McLaren.

Incredible lack of judgement, in particular from Piastri, to burn bridges with Alpine. If he doesn't end up fulfilling his potential (and soon) his career is only going backwards.

Poor judgement all round from Alpine to lose both Alonso and Piastri. They must be sick having pumped so much money into Piastri's development only to be publicly humiliated by him.

Looks like that is how things will play out....

Yeah, there had been a few little rumours going about - I was pretty certain Ricciardo would be leaving but I thought maybe one of the IndyCar lads (Herta, Palou) might be given a chance.

Piastri though is a pretty big coup, I suspect it may be with a long-term view that Norris might get poached by Mercedes.

Realistically though Piastri has won F3 and F2 in his first year, I suspect if he suits the car he could be right up there very quickly.

Giovinazzi getting 2 FP1s for Haas this season. Monza and Austin.

This is already fueling rumours that Schumacher is leaving Haas either by his own choice or Ferrari's choice. Suggestions are he'll join Alpine.

It's all rumour but I find it hard to see why Alpine would want him. He's not shown any brilliant form, or even potential, this year. Maybe Alpine know something Haas and Ferrari don't.

Giovinazzi has had his chance in F1. Don't think he deserves another drive. I can't see himself and Schumacher both being on the grid next year. It's one or the other.

Ricciardo to leave Mclaren at the end of the season. Not surprising really, he's been below par for such a long time now.

Daniel Ricciardo will leave McLaren at the end of the season.

The team said they and the Australian had "mutually agreed" the split, but McLaren admitted they had precipitated the move.

The announcement is expected to be followed by confirmation that McLaren have signed Australian Oscar Piastri - the Formula 2 champion and Alpine reserve.

McLaren said they would confirm their 2023 driver line-up "in due course".

The team already have Lando Norris under contract until the end of 2025.

Yep, below par and a midfield also ran. I think he might struggle to stay in F1 as there isn't much space for a driver merry go round. Most teams have their line ups solidly locked in.

He'll be on the grid next year.
