Nazi Hunter: The Wiesenthal File by Alan Levy

Simon Wiesenthal was responsible for bringing over 1100 Nazi war criminals to justice over the decades since WWII ended. He is a survivor of multiple concentration camps which claimed the lives of over 80 relatives of his.

One of his most famous snags was the infamous Aldof Eichmann amongst others. In an era where everyone wanted to forget the events of WWII, Wiesenthal ensured that what happened was not forgotten and sought out justice for those murdered.

Alan Levy uses interviews with Wiesenthal supporters and adversaries, as well as with the main man himself to paint a picture of the Nazi hunter, his motives and challenges to his quest and reputation.

Currently reading The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo.
I haven't read this and I intend to read it at some point. I'd also recommend Lady Joker by Kaoru Takamura. Fabulously epic novel.

Currently reading Man Eaters of Kumaon by the famed hunter of British India Jim Corbett, his account of years spent hunting man-eating Tigers and Leopards in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India, early twentieth century.

It's bloody brilliant, full of empathy and erudition along with a real sense of adventure. Corbett's certainly one of the good guys of the Raj.

It's on archive.org for download.

Consider Phlebas by Iain M Banks, the first of his 'Culture' novels. Absolutely superb.

Just finished American Psycho. Not sure if it's good or not!! The violence gets boring after a while and cartoonish in some ways. But without the violence and the reputation it gives the book would it be worth reading? Probably not.

The best chapter for me was one with no violence and described a phone call where characters are trying to decide where to go for dinner. I'll probably give it a go again in a few months to see if I appreciate it more.

Jailbird by Kurt Vonnegut.

I'm slowly working my way through the Vonnegut lexicon and I really enjoyed this. A wonderfully satirical fictional autobiography that still hits home now, over 40 years after publication.

Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce.

An enjoyable thriller with a couple of twists that don't seem forced.

Last Night in Montreal by Emily St John Mandel.

Having loved Station Eleven, The Glass Hotel and Sea of Tranquility I thought I'd delve into Emily St John Mandel's earlier, lesser known and largely lesser rated work.

This debut from 2009 is actually a very good book. Different in style from her later offerings but with all the writing style hallmarks I've come to expect from her. I enjoyed this a lot and I look forward to reading more.

Has anyone read Acts of Service? (Lillian Fishman)

I feel like I've read quite a few similar books in the last few years but can't quite describe the genre? I'm getting Luster vibes? But I'm only a few chapters in
