Scotland, who feature in the top League A groups, will face Croatia, Poland and Portugal.

England have been drawn against the Republic of Ireland, Finland and Greece in their League B group for the men's 2024-25 Nations League.

Wales have been placed in the same League B group as Iceland, Montenegro and Turkey.

Northern Ireland are to play Belarus, Bulgaria and Luxembourg in their League C group.

Leagues A, B and C each have four groups of four teams, while League D has two groups of three teams.

Each team in Leagues A, B and C will play two group games in September, two in October and two in November 2024.

League A quarter-finals and promotion/relegation play-offs take place in March 2025, before single-leg semi-finals and a final in June 2025.

Spain are the trophy holders after they beat Croatia on penalties last June.

England should win their group easilly but the games with Ireland should be interesting.

Northern Ireland should be able to win their group.

Scotland have been given a really tough draw and will be favourites for the drop.

Wales's group could go either way.

Ah well, typical Scotland tonight in their first game at the top table.

Beaten 3-2 by Poland at Hampden in a game where we were the better side but found ourselves 2 goals down at the interval thanks to some poor defending including a clumsy Ralston challenge for a penalty on the stroke of half-time. Aside from the two Polish goals, Scotland were the dominant team in the first half. In the second half, we continued to dominate and drew level thanks to goals from the new Napoli midfielders - Gilmour and McTominay but a dumb challenge from Hanley 5 minutes into stoppage time gave Poland their second penalty which they scored.

A good performance but some really poor defensive mistakes were so costly.

We play Portugal on Sunday. We could get hammered.

Ralston's challenge was clumsy but he had a good game after his problems at the Euros. I still have no idea what Hanley was trying to do. You don't make a tackle in that area of the pitch and certainly not with your "wrong" foot. I wasn't very convinced with Gunn in goals either.

We played well but individual errors cost us the match - either one point or three.

No idea what Hanley was trying to do. He didn't even have to make a tackle. Total madness after what I thought was a decent Scotland performance - minus the errors.

Impressive stuff from England as they beat the Republic of Ireland 2-0 in Lee Carsley's first match as interim manager.

Must admit though, Harry Kane looks like a misfit in the team that is so fast and fluid in attack.

Scotland currently drawing 1-1 with Portugal after Scott McTominay gave us the early lead.

Poor goalkeeping once again from Angus Gunn allows Portugal to equalise through Bruno Fernandes.

It would have been the most Scotland-like thing for us to have got a result yesterday after the disappointment against Poland but in the end, we could keep Portugal from scoring a deserved second.

Angus Gunn was at fault again for Fernandes equaliser but he did produce a string of good saves to keep the game level so can't be too critical.

England lose 2-1 at home to Greece!

Terrible performance, thoroughly outplayed by Greece. The Greeks looked so threatening with near every attack with Vangelis Pavlidis scoring twice, his 94th minute winner coming after Jude Bellingham's late equaliser looked to have saved England's blushes.
