Listening to the debate I don't think there is much chance that many Republicans will vote to impeach him.
So far I think we can see what's going to happen, the Democrats will impeach Trump again, but unless the Republicans in the Senate do what needs to be done, it fails again, makes you wonder just what Trump has to do, or is their no limit to that his actions that they will not protect.

The House has just voted to impeach President Trump for the second time – making him the only US president to ever be impeached twice. The resolution passed 232 to 197. The impeachment resolution the House voted on charges Trump with a single article, "incitement of insurrection" for his role in last week's deadly Capitol riot.

The Senate will hold the trial, this just the indictment. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said an impeachment trial can "begin immediately" if they can reach an agreement with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell but McConnell has made clear in a statement to fellow senators that Trump's impeachment trial won't start until after Jan 19.

No president has been successfully prosecuted, Nixon would have likely being the only president convicted but he resigned

Wonder how his supporters who are looking down the barrel of federal convictions feel after him telling them about 176 hours ago that he would never back down, or never surrender.

Thankfully, this shambolic Presidency is coming to an end and the next week passes without incident.

Joe Biden must be very frustrated that this clown is going to dominate the early days of his presidency.

Not a hope Biden does anything in the situation, he's too long in the game to get involved. Behind the scenes he would be urging them to get this done ASAP though I'd be sure of that. He would like this all to just go away now he has enough shit to walk into day one without this dominating the agenda for too long.

The game is up for Trump, professionally and personally IMO. I just think most of us, never mind most of the people who need to clean up his mess just want this to be over and we can stop hearing from Trump and about Trump on a daily basis.

Axios are doing a very interesting series of reports called "How It Happened: Trump's Last Stand".

They seem to have gotten sources from inside the White House relaying back actual quotes from the Admin, as the whole thing played out beginning on election night to the final days of the presidency.

If it can be believed, it's a fascinating insight into how the admin operate in private, some belters of quotes from Trump, Rudy etc etc in there.

Episode 1: A premeditated lie lit the fire
Episode 2: Barbarians at the Oval
Episode 3: Descent into madness
Episode 4: Trump turns on Barr

New episodes will appear on this page as they're released:

Can't wait for the episode where he's told he's been banned from Twitter!

These are great thanks, what a fascinating era, I wonder what the next time we see this level of lies and stupidity will look like?

So he's finally gone from the White House.

Walking across the lawn to the helicopter to his own 8am going away party, when Pence and McConnell have gone to church with Biden really is strikingly pathetic.
