It will be interesting to see if the new manager will be a attacking (maybe German) style coach to get the most out of Ziyech, Werner, Havertz, Pulisic etc or a more defensive style coach that Chelsea seem to do better under. With all the money spent on attacking players over the last few years, it will have to be the attacking style really.

Throwing players under the bus and attacking the media was the beginning of the end for Lampard really.

Good news for Chelsea, bad news for the rest.

They've quality players who Lampard couldn't get the best out of.

A better manager will.

Edited my article, Chelsea have confirmed Lampard has been sacked.

Never should have been given the job in the first place. Lacked any real experience.

Was surprised he got the job when he did, seeing as Abramovich always went for experienced managers up til then.

Not surprised to see him go. In fact, when he was appointed I thought he'd be sacked sooner.

Chelsea hope to have Thomas Tuchel in place before their match against Wolves on Wednesday

Ridiculous from the Chelsea board. Yes, they backed Lampard 100% but you can't expect instant success just because you've splashed more money on players than any other club.

He deserved at least until the end of the season IMO. Ruthless from Abramovich

I'd agree if you could see he was trying to implement a style and it just wasn't clicking yet. Or there was some indication he was heading in the right direction.

But he doesn't seem to have a clue what his best team is. He doesn't seem to be getting the best out of any player really. Watching Chelsea this season and there doesn't seem to be anything to give a claim that he should keep the job.

Sorry, thats ridiculous, he was out of his depth. No managerial track record, he got the job and time because he was a Chelsea legend , as a player. A fortune was spent in the summer, and they are rightfully 9th in the league because they haven't got the results.

Roman doesn't mess around, never has never will.

Lampard got most if not all of what he wanted but the results and performances have been poor repeatedly

His sacking should not come as a surprise.

Tuchel is a good fit IMO, disappointingly so for rival teams as I suspect this will give Chelsea a lift and a manager bounce if anything.
