A major new update is available now. Along with an option to switch the camera's auto rotate function on or off, it adds new event phases for Patches. So yes, you'll probably need to replay the game for his quest again.

However, the real meat of update 1.04 is in the various balance changes. Colossal Swords and weapons have had their attack speed increased and their recovery time lowered. Two-handed attack damage with them has also been increased. None of these buffs apply to jumping attacks though so keep that in mind.

The scaling of status effect build-up when using the spells and incantations of either the Albinauric Staff or Dragon Communion Seal has also been decreased. The Greatshield Talisman also has a decreased effect on weapons with high block rate. On top of all this, recovery from madness buildup has had its speed lowered (though the length of the "afflicted" animation has been shortened).

  • Increased physical block rate and guard boost of the Colossal Sword, Colossal Weapons, Great Sword, Great Hammer, Great Axe, Great Spear, and Halberd weapon classes.
  • Increased the damage of Grafted Blade Greatsword.
  • Increased the damage of Devourer's Scepter.
  • Decreased the scaling of status effect build-up from spells and incantations of Albinauric Staff and Dragon Communion Seal.
  • Decreased the effect of Greatshield Talisman for weapons with high block rate.
  • Shortened the length of the madness afflicted animation.
  • Lowered the speed of madness buildup recovery.
  • Slightly increased FP and Stamina growth rate at lower levels*
*Players will need to perform any of the following actions for the changes to be reflected. This is required only once. New characters created after this update will not require this action:
  • Level up
  • Activate Godrick's Great Rune
  • Re-equipping any equipment (armour, talisman) which grants bonus stat to either Strength, Dexterity, Vigor, Endurance, Intelligence, Faith or Arcane.

Well, finally rolled credits yesterday evening, I'm both sorry and glad that it's over, I still have to do Malenia, but I'll come back to her in my own time. I finished at level 156 and with a shade over 100 hours played.

Truly, one of the best game worlds I've ever played, no corner felt like it served no purpose, or was rushed, as has been the case in previous From games.

I don't know how they'll ever top this.

If you're looking for an excuse to jump back into Elden Ring, then you're in luck, as a PVP-focused update is coming tomorrow.

Bandai Namco has announced that the free Colosseum update will be coming to all versions of Elden Ring tomorrow, December 7, after fans have speculated pretty much since the game released that those mysterious colosseums were more than just decoration. Finally, with this update, the colosseum doors will be opening up so that players can face off against one another.



"The Colosseums of Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid will open their gates, allowing players to engage in battles such as duels, free-for-alls and team fights," reads the trailer's description, not offering much more than that. Duels are likely to be one-on-one fights, free-for-alls sound like they'll be just that, and team fights are pretty self-explanatory too.

FromSoftware has announced 'Shadow of the Erdtree' - brand new DLC for Elden Ring!

"Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together. An upcoming expansion for Elden Ring, 'Shadow of the Erdtree,' is currently in development. We hope you look forward to new adventures in the Lands Between," read the press release.

There is no specified window for the DLC's launch and given that we've only gotten this artwork and nothing more, it might transpire that the team still has its nose to the grindstone polishing the content.

The Colosseum DLC came with a full trailer flaunting the duels, free-for-alls, and team fights available in the update. Furthermore, we don't know whether this one will be free or paid content.

Very very late to the party on this one but I have to say I absolutely love it. I

I'm about ten hours in level 23 I think. The world is fantastic and there's almost too much to do. Just got the bloodhound fang sword which seems nice and powerful - any loadout tips for it?

I don't think you can change the ash of war on it. It scales with strength and dexterity from memory.
