Still delayed, formation lap might start soon but the heavy rain is expected to get even heavier 15 or 20 minutes into the race.

Feels like this could be an absolute mess of a race

Plenty of complaints of poor visibility, sliding about on full wets, heavier rain due.

Can't see there being a race.

Start procedure has been suspended.

This could be abandoned.

Russell is saying race should be started, even if it means a couple of laps behind a safety car as then half points could be awarded.

Well, he would say that considering the position he is in.

Terrible day for F1. Completely horrible for fans who are there as they probably would be entitled to a refund had it not resumed for the two laps behind the safety car.

Complete commercial decision to avoid the hassle of rescheduling.

I'm in agreement with Lewis that the fans should be reimbursed for race day.

I mean, I know it's certainly unprecedented for that amount of persistent rain where a race isn't even able to start, but you can't seriously be comfortable with making the fans pay financially for attending an event that was ultimately cancelled.

Don't think there would be any point rescheduling it, as the weather isn't going to get any better as we move away from the summer, imagine it happened again. They couldn't move it to tomorrow with all the logistics they discussed like marshals being available. Everyone there should most definitely be refunded. I think they should have just had a rolling start and while there was some chance of a race. If they hung back there wouldn't been any visibility issues so could have took it handy as the track dried, if things didn't improve then red flag it after say 10 laps. The fans could have got to see something at least.
