George Russell has gone into Q3 at P7. Well done George!

Great lap from George Russell!. It should be exciting tomorrow with Hamilton and Verstappen side by side. I think Mercedes needed that result though as it felt like Red Bull were running away with the season.

Russell getting points for Williams seems like it's a matter of when rather than if seeing as he's improving week on week.

Props to the Williams team itself, the car obviously getting faster as we go on.

Max Verstappen has won thd first ever F1 sprint race and will start on pole for the British Grand Prix.

Verstappen adds 3 points to his driver championship total, Hamilton 2 points and Bottas 1 point.

Sergio Perez will start from 20th tomorrow after retiring from today's sprint race.

That was great! Very enjoyable sprint race, hopefully they keep it.

Honestly not sure why this is better than qualifying on a Saturday, it's a glorified race stint. Having a reverse grid for the top 10 with Friday qualifying deciding the Sunday race grid order is what I would be more in favour of. If not that just keep qualifying as is but move its start time back to the evening since the goal here is to also try to increase viewership numbers by having things later in the day. Also, the current format pretty much makes Saturday practice meaningless besides testing tyre deg.

The McLarens are in a great position, great to see Ricciardo up with Lando for this start. There was also a nice piece on Sky of the both of them and Zak Brown racing around Silverstone in McLaren sports cars.

Not many new sets of tyres from some of the drivers. Could be interesting.
