If you already own the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for Xbox One, you'll be getting a free code for Gears of War: Reloaded to your Xbox account at some point prior to the launch of the game.

A code for Gears of War: Reloaded will be delivered prior to launch of the game via a direct message to eligible Xbox accounts.

Before you go rushing to buy a digital copy right now, though, be warned that this free upgrade is only for purchases prior to 4pm UTC on May 5th (aka, when the announcement happened), so there's no way of qualifying for it unless you bought the game in the past.

Gears of War: Reloaded has been confirmed for release on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, PS5 and Xbox Cloud Gaming so far on August 26th, 2025. Here's more of what to expect:
