There's a bit of my own family history in this one, Kevin Costner's character is my real life late Uncle Butch. Clint Eastwood plays a character modeled after former Potter County Sheriff T.L. Baker in John Lee Hancock's billed-as-fiction screenplay. Yes Sheriff Baker fed a judge a t-bone steak and told him to send Butch to Huntsville, to teach the kid a hard lesson - just for joyriding in a stolen car. And yes predictably, Butch turned hardened criminal. Eastwood's direction is superb as always, Laura Dern plays her role quite believably, and young T.J Lowther carries the movie in moments where it's needed. Stream it!

That is cool that you have a family connection to this. And thanks for reminding me of an Eastwood film I haven't seen. Big fan of Clint as both an actor and director.
