I think we're all heading for repeated lockdown cycles (sometimes local, sometimes national) until such a time a vaccine (if one ever happens) is mass rolled out.

Even if Scotland reached "zero Covid", it'll inevitably be imported from elsewhere, and it all begins again.

Melbourne is another area going back into lockdown for 6 weeks.

I'm just back from Tesco and I'd say about 10% of customers had a face covering on. At one point I noticed 15/16 people across 2 aisles not wearing a covering.

Maybe because I was there later at night but definitely was only a handful of people with masks on. I just realised too that the wearing masks in shops doesn't become mandatory until later this week which is a puzzling rule in itself!!!

As the Atlantic provinces all became one bubble, I drove to New Brunswick on Friday. What normally takes 5 1/2 hours (by highway) took us nearly nine hours. The provinces have check points set up at the border, this backed up traffic for over 24 km. It took 3 hours and 45 mins for us to go that 24 km. That was not fun.

We now have 4 active covid cases in Nova Scotia (not from expanding the bubble) after 19 days of 0 cases. Apparently, a person thought it was a good idea to travel to the USA, then go to PEI (which gave them their first couple of active cases since April), and then came to our province, all without self isolation. So now, if you visit the province after travelling, you must self isolate and the government will be monitoring you (which, considering the circumstances is a good idea).

Looks like Scotland will move into Phase 3 on Thursday as deaths and new cases continue to be minimal

If he gets a mild version it will further back up the idiotic approach he has taken to tackling it. The man is a dumber version of Trump which in itself is incredible.

So dumb that the gangs had to take control of the pandemic by enforcing lockdowns and hiring private ambulances in the favelas.

According to the initial roadmap yes although I don't expect any announcement before the end of July. I think it will mid_august at the earliest. Even then there will still be physical distancing and hygiene measures in place - all equipment will need to get cleaned down each time someone uses it.

Hopefully it serves as a stark reminder of how potentially dangerous Covid-19 can be, and revise his flippant opinion toward it. That said, wishing him a full recovery.
