Ontario has announced we will start relaxing restrictions on January 31 and phase that in over two months. And that's just getting everything reopened at full capacity. Masking and checking of vaccine passports will still be in force even after the final round in March.

I feel that Covid will be for us a long time and it will become much like dealing with the yearly flu, get your shot once a year and that will be it.

"Deltacron" has been officially identified as a new COVID-19 variant.

Combining mutations from both Omicron and Delta, concerns were raised earlier this year following investigations by a lab in Cyprus.

Positive cases have been rising steadily over the past few weeks in the UK.

Scottish government are recommending the continued wearing of face masks for the time being after a large increase in positive cases.

Currently more people in hospital now than any other time in the last 13 months

There has been high infection rates around my area. Lots of people saying this is the second time they've had Covid, most of the elderly and most vulnerable will be receiving another booster in the coming weeks.

I know loads of folk who have had it recently. But very few who have actually had anything more than cold-like symptoms.

Scotland's rules on face coverings in shops and on public transport will remain in place until April due to a rise in cases of Covid-19.

All other restrictions on businesses and services are to move from legal requirement to guidance from 21 March.

But First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said it would be "prudent" to keep mask rules in place due to a spike in cases.

These will be reviewed again in two weeks, and are likely to be converted to guidance by 4 April.

Figures show that 1 in 11 people in Scotland had covid last week; in the UK overall, it was 1 in 16. There was also a rise of over one million new cases over the week.

Not sure why there has been such a surge lately but it is definitely out of control although i don't believe there have been as many deaths.

Covid levels are at their highest levels in Scotland right now but this strain isn't as deadly, thankfully.

Scotland's mandatory face covering rules will now remain in force until 18 April.

The legal requirement to wear masks in shops and on public transport had been expected to be lifted next week.

But the changes will now not take effect until 18 April.
