Massive blow for Man City.
Man City have confirmed Rodri suffered a ligament injury to his right knee.

"The midfielder travelled to Spain to seek a specialist consultation this week after initial tests in Manchester".

"Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain on the full extent of the injury and expected prognosis to return"

Massive blow for Man City.
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Rodri has undergone surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee and is not expected to return for nine months.

Manchester City will also be without Kevin De Bruyne when they face Newcastle United on Saturday.

Man United have just 2 wins from their first 6 league games and currently sit 12th in the table.

Erik ten Hag retains the backing of Manchester United's football leadership structure with no immediate plans for a change of manager.

While there is consensus that the non-performance in the 3-0 drubbing against Tottenham was unacceptable, the hierarchy's focus at the moment remains on providing support to the Dutchman, his backroom staff, and the players to turn their fortunes around.

Can ten Hag turn things around at Old Trafford?

No. I think he'll be gone by Christmas.

They are so far behind Man City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Newcastle, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and even Chelsea with all their problems are in better shape than Man United.

I think the Glazers would have actually sacked him by now. The only reason he is still there is INEOS - they backed him in the summer so I don't think they will sack him 6 or 7 games into the new season.

If results don't improve soon though they may have no option but to sack him

It just looks like the team has no identity, no culture, no purpose. Doesn't really look like the players care all too much either. This is a shit show at this point, and it won't get better until someone can come in and install some kind of identity.

They've had managers like Mourinho, Solskjaer, Van Gaal, and now ten Hag who have collectively spent billions but arguably haven't improved the team.

Bruno Fernandes will be available for Manchester United's next three Premier League matches after having his red card against Tottenham overturned.

Ridiculous red card so that's the right decision. I'm not even a United fan, but VAR is there so this doesn't need to be overturned days later, isn't it?

Manchester United's decision-makers are scheduled to meet in London within 48 hours of Sunday's match away at Aston Villa as scrutiny grows on Erik ten Hag.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe & Joel Glazer are among those attending the long-standing meeting.

It is probably worth noting that Ratcliffe said he thinks Ten Hag's a good coach but when asked if he had faith in Ten Hag he said "I don't want to answer that question." It could be nothing, but I also think that thinking he's a good coach and having faith he can be successful at Manchester United are two different things.
