F1 Manager 2022 is being released on August 30th on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Steam and Epic Games or if you pre-order it then it's released on the 25th. It's made by Frontier. You manage the team, factory, headquarters, drivers, staff and control of race weekend. You can choose from the whole roster of F1, F2 and F3 drivers. They also are using real audio for drivers and their actual engineers during the race.

I like the look of this, the last management game I got was Grand Prix Manager 2. My management skills sucked 🤣

Here are some more screenshots

Is this the first version of this game, was there a F1 Manager 2021?

There were a bunch of F1 management games back in the 90s - Grand Prix Manager 1 and 2, Grand Prix World and even EA Sports had a go with F1 Manager. I used to really enjoy them although they were all kind of broken messes in their own ways and none of them really lived up to their promise. There were more recent Motorsport Manager games for mobile (and a later PC port) which were a bit of fun but very lacking in depth.

It's been a long time since someone's had a proper go and Frontier are a good studio so I'm really excited about this. Looks like they've put a lot of detail in it so I'm hoping it makes for a fun game.

Motorsport Manager circa 2016 was a really decent little game actually. This is a massive upgrade.

Hope so, looking forward to playing an F1 management game other than the management/career part of the Codemasters/EA F1 games

This is pretty decent. Just a licensed version of Motorsport Manager. Some good detail in the car development options and car setup options though. It's a decent enough simulator, worth the spend IMO.

Has a few small niggly things that the devs have already committed to patching - it's on early access like FM is each year so I'm expecting a launch day patch to fix the minor annoyances that crop up.

Launch trailer....

Excellent cinematic quality to the game and is pretty fun too. I took the hard road and went for Williams. Achieved 9th in my first season, dropped Latifi pretty early on as he is even more shit in the game than he is in real life. Board were jubilant at the end of the season...the next target? 6th or above!

No way I'm beating the McLarens and Alpines consistently. Esteban Ocon is a beast though and so far he's carrying my second season.

I kicked off a Ferrari career, to try and get them back to winning ways. Was having a great ding-dong battle with the Red Bulls, although all over the forums, people have been noting that the tyre compounds were broken, and Frontier are addressing this hopefully by the 19th, so I'm holding out on playing again until then.

F1 Manager 2022 isn't even two months old, and Frontier is already dropping support for the management simulator, saying the game's next patch will be its last major update before staff begin work on upcoming F1 Manager projects.

As spotted by Eurogamer, Frontier announced that it was dropping support for F1 Manager 2022 over on Reddit, much to the chagrin of current players.

"This next update for F1 Manager 2022 will be the last significant update that addresses player-reported feedback, or suggested changes and additions," Frontier said. "Any potential updates following this would be minor patches that do not noticeably affect gameplay.

"To ensure upcoming F1 Manager projects realise their potential and meet the expectations of both our team and our community, the development team's focus must move fully onto projects beyond F1 Manager 2022, after this upcoming update."

This last major update includes visual updates to car models for the official F1 teams and other optimisations, addresses "fuel usage issues during Qualifying sessions," and "amends instances of incorrect 'Estimated Race Time' calculations."

Naturally, players aren't happy with the news. The F1 Manager 2022 subreddit is filled with disappointed posts from players who say they regret buying the game and that there are "game-breaking" issues that need to be resolved.

"What an absolute joke, shame on Frontier, and shame on you and your team," one user on Reddit wrote. "Your product still contains game-breaking bugs, and you think it's appropriate to just throw in the towel and move on? Here's a tip: If you don't have time to fix the game you already released before moving on to next year's version, then you have absolutely no business pursuing a yearly release model. And then you have the audacity to come in here and make this announcement as if it's some sort of good news? Time to celebrate, guys, we're making it official, we've ripped you off! I am completely and utterly disgusted."

"I mean, I can understand that you're trying to focus on F1 Manager 2023 now to make it better than 2022, but only 2 months of updates? And the updates even stop before the end of the F1 season? Damn, that's rough," another user wrote.
