Free 10 hour trial out now

Only slight gripes I have so far is the amount of overcuts due to cold tyres when coming out the pits and how much oversteer you get looks quite unrealistic.

Spikey Enthusiast
Played this yesterday, and it's really not much different to last year's effort. Kerbs in Spain are still ridiculously slippy.

Son Of Jack Enthusiast
I've bought it but can't see much difference from last year. Should have just gone for the 10-hour trial on EA Access

Gemma Mentor
Think I'll try the trial first judging by those comments.

Would agree that it's not much different to previous years. Cars feel heavier.

Career mode seems a bit more difficult, so I've dropped the difficulty down to 84 from 90 that I used on F1 2021.

It's a great game, but aye, not much different.

Online is and always will be a shit show on F1 games so I stay clear.

Codemasters and EA have confirmed that Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, better known to F1 fans as Portimao, will be coming to F1 22 at the beginning of August. The circuit will be added as a free update to all owners of F1 22. Check out a hot lap gameplay video for Portimao below.

The footage in the video was captured using Lewis Hamilton in this year's W13 car.

"We know our players love the thrill of competing on more circuits, and they don't get much better than Portimao," said senior creative director Lee Mather. "Portimao is highly revered with a proud history, and our players will love the challenge of taking the 2022-designed cars onto the hallowed circuit for the first time."

Codemasters has also revealed that September 12 will see the release of China's Shanghai International Circuit.

F1 22 recently got its 1.05 update (see post above), which brought with it a bunch of bug fixes, along with general stability improvements. ICE wear rate when downshifting, for example, has been reduced and made generally less punishing.

Currently, Codemasters is in the process of trialling online cross-platform play for this latest instalment. The next beta session will take place between August 12-14 and will allow players to join races in Social Play and Two-Player Career game modes, regardless of which platforms they're playing on.

Hopefully, we won't have to wait long until the cross-play update is rolled out and available to everyone. In the meantime, here are the latest F1 22 patch notes.
