Probably the smartest thing for his long term career. Liverpool would have been a big step up and an early one, Bayern potentially ruinous.
Anfield will still be there when it's time to move.
The right call. I think Liverpool is in his future, but probably too early in his career to move. About time someone upset the status quo in Germany anyway.
This is the best outcome for Alonso, he can continue to learn, build and progress on the terrific season he and Leverkusen have had.
Not sure where that leaves Bayern and Liverpool though.

Bayer Leverkusen are 13 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga as a result of their win today and Bayern Munich losing 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund. Thomas Tuchel appeared to concede the title as he congratulated Leverkusen on their title win.
