He will finish his career after the Euros in the summer and will not sign a new contract with Real Madrid.

Barcelona have sacked manager Xavi with former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick set to replace him.

Xavi will take charge of Barcelona for the final time on Sunday, when they host Sevilla in their last La Liga match of the season.

The 44-year-old, who had been contracted until 2025, was informed of the club's decision during a meeting with club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco on Friday.

Former Spain midfielder Xavi announced in January that he would leave the Camp Nou, but he was persuaded to stay by Laporta in April.

But recent comments from Xavi, in which he opened up about the club's financial struggles, are said to have angered Laporta.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is now the favourite to become Bayern Munich's next manager, after reportedly receiving a direct call from the Bayern board.

An agreement has been reached with Burnley, with a fee of around €10-12M to secure the services of the Belgian coach.

He will sign a contract till 2027, leaving Burnley who will start the 24/25 season in the Championship.

Seems strange to call it a risk when you look at his honours, but it feels like one. There was always a sense that his Bayern team kind of ran itself and Flick just kept them ticking over. But then people said that about Ancelotti before it became obvious he did a lot more than just that, so who knows.
