R* fairly pissed off to release it early, someone's gonna get mauled in court over these leaks.

Seems we are going to have to wait a bit longer though as it confirms 2025 release date.

Not much actually revealed in that trailer. It looks like a Bonnie and Clyde type story, but hopefully it's more of the case you select one at the start and largely play as them. I'm never a fan of random switches between character inside missions. I've always preferred to have one consistent character.

Can't really judge anything until there is some actual gameplay footage but that will still be some way off given the release date is sometime in 2025.

A report on Friday by Wedbush Securities analysts Nick McKay and Michael Pachter, says that GTA 6 may have slipped out of its once anticipated early 2025 release window.⁠

Rockstar owner Take-Two Interactive revised its guidance for its next fiscal year, which runs from this April to March 2025.⁠

The main points of the report are as follows:⁠

"Management had said that next year's bookings number will be just over $7 billion, a far cry from its initial comments of $8 billion in May, and its first revision of just under $8 billion in November," ⁠

"The drop makes us almost certain that GTA VI will not be releasing next FY. With that said, we have no reason to believe the game has slipped out of calendar 2025, but it is reasonable to assume that it will launch later in the year."

The GTA 6 release window was confirmed as part of Take-Two Interactive's Q1 2025 earnings report today.

In that report, the company outlined many of its upcoming releases, the most noteworthy being GTA 6.

While no firm release date was given, a table on page five of the report did list Grand Theft Auto 6 with a release date of "Fall of calendar 2025" for PS5 to Xbox Series X/S.

Of course, Rockstar Games is no stranger to delaying games. It's a studio known to take the time needed to release a product when it's ready. Not that GTA 6 will necessarily suffer a delay, but it's worth remembering that both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 were delayed, with RDR2 suffering multiple delays.

Rockstar reportedly intends to add more cities and interiors to the GTA 6 map after release to ease developer workloads and minimize overtime during development.

According to Bloomberg, there will be new missions and new map areas added "on a regular basis".

We have a release date, coming in May but not 2025. Rockstar have announced GTA VI will be released on May 26 2026
