The Buffalo Bills are the AFC East champions again and the number 2 seed after beating the Miami Dolphins 21-14.

This game had everything that is good and bad about Josh Allen - two picks, a fumble and two touchdowns - chaos mode was activate early this year but it helped them make the playoffs. The game swung on a 96 yard punt returned for a touchdown by Deonte Harty, after that Josh Allen was unplayable as the Bills came from behind to seal their fifth AFC East division title in a row.

The Bills will host the Steelers on Wild Card weekend as the Dolphins go to Arrowhead to face the Chiefs.

I think before the season started most people though the Bills could be one of the top 2 AFC seeds but it was a long and twisty road to get to that scenario.

Rams as the biggest dark horse going into the playoff for me, could upset the 49ers in the Divisional Round as well.

Bills are a better team than the Chiefs imo but Mahomes will get it done at least one more time against the odds. The Eagles are the biggest question mark but I just don't really rate the Buccaneers. Cowboys at home would blow out either one of them though imo.

Super excited that the Bills secured second seed but not really happy with the way the last three games went down, feels like this team can beat anyone and lose to anyone as well. If only there was a way for Allen to play a match without his mandatory interception.

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has doubled down on his support of interim coach Antonio Pierce getting the full-time job. With Pierce interviewing with the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, Crosby let it be known that he will likely request a trade if Pierce is not hired by the Raiders.

"All options are on the table," a league source with direct knowledge of Crosby's thinking said.

NFL Honors: Lamar Jackson wins second MVP in four years

Everyone had been assuming for the past month that Lamar Jackson was going to win MVP and that's exactly what happened. The Ravens QB took home the award for the second time in his career.

Actually, there was a small bit of drama, and that came from the Coach of the Year award. Kevin Stefanski and Demeco Ryans actually tied for the award with 165 points each, but Stefanski took home the honor because he beat Ryans in the tiebreaker, which was most first-place votes (21 to 20).

Also, Joe Flacco topped Damar Hamlin for the Comeback Player of the Year even though Hamlin received eight more first-place votes. A big reason Flacco won is because Hamlin got completely left off of eight ballots.

One twist in the awards is that Houston swept the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards with C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. both winning. The two Texans players became just the fourth set of teammates to sweep the rookie awards.

Here's a look at all the awards that were handed out on Thursday night:
  • AP Most Valuable Player: Lamar Jackson (Ravens)
  • AP Coach of the Year: Kevin Stefanski (Browns)
  • AP Offensive Player of the Year: Christian McCaffrey (49ers)
  • AP Defensive Player of the Year: Myles Garrett (Browns)
  • AP Comeback Player of the Year: Joe Flacco (Browns)
  • AP Offensive Rookie of the Year: C.J. Stroud (Texans)
  • AP Defensive Rookie of the Year: Will Anderson Jr. (Texans)
  • AP Assistant Coach of the year: Jim Schwartz (Browns)
  • Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year: Cam Heyward (Steelers)
  • FedEx Air Player of the Year: Brock Purdy (49ers)
  • FedEx Ground Player of the Year: Christian McCaffrey (49ers)

I would have had CMC or Josh Allen as MVP and Demeco Ryans as Coach of the Year.

Agree with the OPOTY and DPOTY and OROTY and DROTY winners though.

The Jimmy Garoppolo era with the Raiders unofficially ended on Friday, though in unexpected fashion as the quarterback was suspended two games for violating the NFL's Performance Enhancing Substances Policy, league sources confirmed. The Raiders plan to cut Garoppolo in a month, a team source and league sources confirmed, after the NFL year starts to avoid paying him an $11.25 million roster bonus.

Garoppolo will not appeal the suspension and will miss the first two games of the 2024 season.

Garoppolo had a very rocky year with the Raiders, starting with his contract press conference being delayed after he failed a physical and needed further foot surgery. The Raiders reworked the three-year, $73 million contract due to the surgery, but then reworked it again after he came back to restore the $33.75 million guaranteed.

The cherry on top for this whole Jimmy G fiasco sundae. Absolutely terrible signing (especially since the Raiders had an out following his failed physical).
