TV presenter and comedian Paul O'Grady has passed away, aged 67.

Sad news, I enjoyed the dog show he had recently - he seemed a decent bloke all round.

Aw, so sad. He was a lovely man who adored his animals and was a fab all round person.

Throughout his career he was famously outspoken about the neglect of care workers, austerity and the Tory party: he made headlines when he said he wanted to see David Cameron and George Osborne's "heads on spikes on Tower Bridge" over austerity cuts, and revealed that he quit his talkshow because celebrities were so dull they were like "relatives you felt obliged to visit".

Sad news, enjoyed watching him on TV, managed to make people smile time and time again. His Love of Dogs show was superb.

Shocked by this news, to be honest.

Created an iconic and controversial character and then used his celebrity status to help people and animals as well as openly criticising austerity and the damage it caused. One of few celebrities to genuinely admire and look up to.

He was a great entertainer but more importantly, he seemed like a thoroughly decent bloke.

He was the only drag act that I actually enjoyed watching, very dry, very quick and very funny.

For The Love Of Dogs was a marvellous TV show, you could see how much it meant to him.

Sad news. Certainly led a colourful life and seemed a decent human being as well. He was a great champion of animal welfare, especially Battersea.
