So few interesting titles, ones that are not going to make me buy the PS5 on day one but could be really good.

Only Resident Evil 8 and Horizon Forbidden West really made me go "ok these games are what I want". I don't see myself buying the PS5 until probably a year to eighteen months after release day.

As for the console look itself, I'm not a fan but I don't care overall, the controller looks interesting, slightly bulkier than PS4, it will be interesting to see how it feels in the hand and after a few hours gameplay.

Disappointed there was no price given but happy enough that I know what my plan is about buying it.

I'll be in no rushing getting this. I thoroughly regretted getting PS4 early last time around. Hopefully, by the time I buy one, they'll have a nice black version available.

You can lie this down and I usually prefer a console lying down but this looks way better standing up.

The white is a very odd choice since they've had a slick black design for a while. It will stick out sitting beside black TVs, PCs and monitors etc. I guess people won't care once they start playing games!

Having said that, it looks like they may have to wait a while for some decent games. Only one or two stood out for me there.

Assuming the SSD's are the same size - and I think they will be - and the price difference is minimal due to the fact that a disk drive doesn't actually cost that much, why would you opt for the Digital Edition? Why cut yourself off from physical media. The price difference can't be a factor because that will just be offset by the fact that digital games are more expensive. And you can buy digital games on the disk version anyway, so you're getting the best of both worlds. Don't get it.

There are people who are into VR who are digital-only, don't want to have to switch disks etc. Then there are some that have seen their buying habits shift to digital-only over this past gen.

I don't think they're just going to deduct the drive price. Sony will see the digital edition as a massive profit-maker compared to the physical, as they'll get all the money from sales themselves, and can control the prices as they see fit, so I think it'll be around £100 cheaper.

I'm half tempted if it's around that figure, as with PS and Xbox, the resale value of most games aren't that high (unlike Nintendo, where you can buy physical and sell it at maximum £5 loss after a few years), and if you're patient, you can always wait for inevitable sales that will occur.

The downside is having to download games from scratch (rather than disk, which normally has a small download), and more HDD space being taken up.

So we'll find out Sony's plans on Wednesday. I would guess that the digital-only will be the same price or slightly cheaper than the series X and the one with the optical drive will be more expensive.

Some more information about the PlayStation 5 showcase for later this week. On Wednesday, September 16th, Sony will give us updates on games from first-party developers at Worldwide Studios and its partners.

The stream will kick off at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM BST/ 10 PM CEST, and we'll get another look at some of the games coming to the PS5 at launch and beyond. Sony has not confirmed if there will be price and launch date reveals for the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition, but considering Microsoft has shown its hand with the Xbox Series X|S, it's probably going to be likely. Sony says the event will last for about 40 minutes.

Finally, we have the price of the PlayStation 5. It's coming in at $499.99 / £449.99, with the Digital Edition selling for less at $399.99 and £359.99.

It's coming on November 12 in Japan and the US, and November 19 for the rest of the world.

The first big reveal at today's Showcase was Final Fantasy 16 from Square Enix. After months of rumours we finally got confirmation and our first look at gameplay and story. It's exclusive to the PS5 console, but all footage shown was from PC.

Next up was Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and we got a proper look at gameplay as Miles wanders around Harlem in the snow. The Tinkerer and The Underground were shown as villains and there was a bit of a dust up between those guys, a corporation called Roxxon and Miles himself. It all looked very… Spider-Manish, especially with the collapsing bridge.

Avalanche showed off its Harry Potter project, Hogwarts Legacy. There was a dragon in it! And the trailer was pretty neat. It's coming in 2021.

Raven Software showed a peek at the first portion of a mission from Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War as Mason and chums infiltrate a base, watch a few baddies do some murderin' and then go loud with a few well-placed headshots. Yep, it's Call of Duty.

Capcom dropped another trailer for Resident Evil 8: Village and that was enough for us to let one go. It's coming in 2021.

Sony and Bluepoint brought a new gameplay trailer for Demon's Souls. The PS5 remake continues to look a cut above many of the games shown today, and the new footage will no doubt be excruciatingly examined by Souls fans for clues, or potentially even criticisms about some of the changes.
