For the sponge​

  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 3 tbsp custard powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 225g soft unsalted butter, plus extra to grease
  • 225g golden caster sugar
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 5 tbsp raspberry jam

For the buttercream​

  • 75g unsalted butter, softened
  • 125g icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp custard powder
  • 2 tbsp milk
