Anybody who is a Russia apologist needs their heads checked. You'd do well by researching the Nazis foreign policy prior to WWII as there are many similarities between the Nazis at the time and the current Russian leadership.

Europe and the West does not want conflict with Russia and are not anti-Russian at all. But they can't just stand idly by whilst another European democracy is being invaded and having their independency threatened. There can be no peace deals, the only workable and acceptable solution is a Russian retreat and demilitarization of the Donbas and Crimea. The Russian people need to stand up for themselves and throw out the current regime as their country is heading in to the abyss.

It's for domestic consumption, isn't it?. He can go on State TV and say "I offered a ceasefire but the Ukrainians refused and continued to attack poor Russians during (Orthodox) Christmas". It portrays him as a generous, God-fearing leader and makes the Ukrainians look like the aggressors.

US DoD have announced their next defence package for Ukraine.

• 50 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles with 500 TOW anti-tank missiles and 250,000 rounds of 25mm ammunition;
• 100 M113 Armored Personnel Carriers;
• 55 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs);
• 138 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs);
• 18 155mm self-propelled Howitzers and 18 ammunition support vehicles;
• 70,000 155mm artillery rounds;
• 500 precision-guided 155mm artillery rounds;
• 1,200 155mm rounds of Remote Anti-Armor Mine (RAAM) Systems;
• 36 105mm towed Howitzers and 95,000 105mm artillery rounds;
• 10,000 120mm mortar rounds;
• Additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);

This morning, Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov compared the recent actions of the US amid the Ukraine war to those of Adolf Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte.

He claimed Washington had also subjugated Europe in order to wage war against Moscow.

Mr Lavrov said that the Nazi leader and French emperor had once tried to use the same tactic against Russia.

In response, the White House said this comment was "truly offensive".

"It's almost so absurd that it's not worth responding to, other than the truly offensive manner in which he tried to cast us in terms of Hitler and the Holocaust," spokesman John Kirby said.

America announced on Wednesday that it will send 31 of its premier battle tanks to Ukraine, following an agreement with Germany to deliver scores of its Leopard 2 tanks from across Europe.

A major Russian offensive that Ukraine predicted the Kremlin would launch before the first anniversary of the war has started, Ukrainian officials have said.

Asked on Ukrainian television if he agreed that the offensive had already begun, Pavlo Krylenko, governor of the eastern Donetsk region, said: "Yes, definitely."

Around eastern towns such as Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Vuhledar that have witnessed some of the bloodiest battles of the war, "the enemy's forces and means are escalating there with daily intensity", Mr Krylenko added.

Luhansk governor Serhiy Haidai told Ukrainian Radio NV: "Over the past week to 10 days, the frequency of shelling has increased. The daily number of attacks has increased.

"In real terms, this is part of the full-scale offensive planned by the Russians."

Has there been any talk on how Ukraine are going to cope with the cost of all of the assistance in weapons and equipment?

Surely the US etc are not doing this for free?

Plus the cost of rebuilding the country's destroyed areas will be massive.
