Anthony Joshua Daniel Dubois fight loss future

The discussion kicks off with Joshua's shocking defeat to Dubois, where many fans express disbelief over his performance. Critics highlight Joshua's form since his losses to Usyk, suggesting that he appeared gun-shy, lacking the aggression needed in the ring. There is a palpable sense of anxiety among the commentators about Joshua's future in the sport, especially considering the multitude of knockdowns he suffered during the fight.12

As the conversation unfolds, opinions diverge on the implications of Joshua's performance. Some argue that this may signal the end of his career, emphasizing the need for him to reassess his approach or contemplate retirement. Others criticize the lack of urgency in his corner, feeling that they should have pulled him from such a one-sided contest earlier.34

The sentiment shifts slightly as fans begin to discuss potential next steps for Joshua. While some believe he may not have the skill set to reclaim his status, others hold out hope for a comeback. Dubois, credited for his impressive performance, raises questions about how Joshua will deal with future matchups against formidable opponents.56

"Dubios destroyed him there. That was a brilliant performance."

"Thought he was going to stage a comeback them ooof."

Impressed with Beterbiev again last night. Shorter bloke with a shorter reach but he mastered and controlled the distance against Smith from the off and very easily.

I love fights where you can hear the hard shots land and see them and Smith took plenty to body and head.

That'll be Smith done at the elite level...he just didn't get away from Beterbiev although that is no slight on his ability. Beterbiev is a standout elite performer.

Looking at the last performances from each bloke I'd fancy Beterbiev to beat Bivol I think.

From the highlights I've seen it looks like Beterbiev was in complete control from the first bell?

Cannot wait for Beterbiev - Bivol. An absolute tank against some of the best defence around.

Fury v Usyk off. Fury citing cuts in sparring.

*pretends to be shocked*

Tyson Fury's undisputed heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk has been postponed after the Briton sustained a "freak" cut in training.

Fury, 35, was cut in sparring at his training camp in Saudi Arabia on Friday in preparation for the bout on 17 February in Riyadh.

The injury above Fury's right eye needed "urgent medical attention" and "significant stitching".

In a statement (see attached) the Briton said he was "absolutely devastated".

Fury is the WBC champion with Ukraine's Usyk, 37, holding the WBA, WBO and IBF belts.

If the fight does take place at a later date, the winner will be crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era.

Fury said he had been preparing to face Usyk "for so long" and was in "superb condition".

"I feel bad for everyone involved in this huge event and I will work diligently towards the rescheduled date once the eye is healed," he added.

I can't say I'm surprised. Fury was always going to pull out!

Strip him of his belt, stop him making mockery of the sport

Never in doubt, and the cancellation was always going to come from the Fury side.

I just don't think it was meant to be, while I doubt he did this on purpose I definitely feel it is a fight he doesn't really want, its just his attitude and all the messing about in the lead-up to it that makes me feel his heart really isn't in it.

TBF, he looks in great shape, but this is a fight that should have happened well before Feb 17.
And if the fight doesn't happen it'll affect Fury a hell of a lot more than Usyk because it is clear as crystal that Usyk has always been the one pushing for this fight.

Honestly never felt that it would go ahead, Fury's incredibly bizarre 70-30 offer to Usyk initially started me thinking like that. I genuinely don't think Fury has ever wanted it and tried to get out of it with a ridiculous offer that only a genuine one of a kind sports lunatic would take.

The behaviour of Fury as an elite athlete has been questioned for some time now and rightfully so - my view is he couldn't give a toss about what the fans think and he is only in it for the money.

If the fight ever happens now I'll be surprised.

The May 18 date. Is it really genuine -achievable? I hope so, but seems it came too soon.
Fury's cut should be an awful lot better/healed in the next 4-5 weeks, and he can still train hard, albeit not spar for a couple months.

Froch and Groves don't think May 18 will happen.
