Anthony Joshua Daniel Dubois fight loss future

The discussion kicks off with Joshua's shocking defeat to Dubois, where many fans express disbelief over his performance. Critics highlight Joshua's form since his losses to Usyk, suggesting that he appeared gun-shy, lacking the aggression needed in the ring. There is a palpable sense of anxiety among the commentators about Joshua's future in the sport, especially considering the multitude of knockdowns he suffered during the fight.12

As the conversation unfolds, opinions diverge on the implications of Joshua's performance. Some argue that this may signal the end of his career, emphasizing the need for him to reassess his approach or contemplate retirement. Others criticize the lack of urgency in his corner, feeling that they should have pulled him from such a one-sided contest earlier.34

The sentiment shifts slightly as fans begin to discuss potential next steps for Joshua. While some believe he may not have the skill set to reclaim his status, others hold out hope for a comeback. Dubois, credited for his impressive performance, raises questions about how Joshua will deal with future matchups against formidable opponents.56

"Dubios destroyed him there. That was a brilliant performance."

"Thought he was going to stage a comeback them ooof."

I'd give that first round to Usyk.
Sky Sports pundits have just correctly said if it was Usyk who was bouncing about the ropes like that it would have been stopped.

I'd give that first round to Usyk.
Correct decision, not sure how one judge gave it to Fury 114-113. The 115-112 scorecard for Usyk was more accurate.

Fury's Ukraine comment was utterly classless.

He better not double down on it in post-fight press conference.

Couldn't just say he thought he won the fight, and he'll set the record straight in October. No, had to put it down to 'I got beat because people feel sorry for Ukraine'.

The referee dragged Fury back into the match and let him recover, it was a technical fecking knockout.

I'd give that first round to Usyk.
Delighted with the result but it should have been an unanimous decision (or a KO in round 9)

Usyk pummeled him in round 9 scoring a 2 point advantage. In order to give it to Fury by a round, you have to score the other 11 rounds 7-4 to Fury. Absolute no chance.

He won 3 clear rounds in the fight for me. Usyk should have have won by unanimous decision by at least 3 rounds.

I'm just glad he wasn't robbed. Fury is a bit deluded if he thinks he won that. There won't be any chance he wants a rematch, he'll call it a day for me.

What a fight! Both fighters delivered but Usyk was class.

The referee saved Fury with his intervention and slow count, he was done for but as always in boxing these days there seem to be other forces at work. I thought Fury only won rounds 4, 5 and 6, and Usyk won the rest.

Fury showed no class by suggesting Usyk won because of Ukraine war sympathy vote....it should have been an unanimous verdict.

Usyk won deservingly in the end.

I'd give that first round to Usyk.
Very close fight but fair play to Usyk. If was the same size as Fury, he would dominate him. It probably should have been stopped in round 9. Very poor comments from Fury regarding Ukraine but I kind of expected it, tbh.

Rematch will be very interesting if it goes ahead. If I was Usyk, I'd retire, he's undisputed and won everything. No point in risking the 0, imo.

What a fight.

Can't wait for the re-match but it's got a lot to live up to after that.

Fury has an even bigger task on his hands now.

Great fight, sadly ruined by the comments post fight that they only sided with Usyk because of the Ukraine war.

Fury must know that he lost that fight and the funny little showboating is good for the show but it's not going to win you fights.

The right man won - but as others have said it should have been by KO or unanimous decision. I could give Fury 4 rounds at most.

I thought that Fury boxed well overall and it was a high quality fight.

Scored the fight 7-5 in Usyk's favour and felt that Usyk clearly won.

But it was the toughest fight Usyk's been in at heavyweight and for seven rounds it was interesting.

Think Fury's engine may have gone. Slowed down, got clipped.
