Anthony Joshua Daniel Dubois fight loss future

The discussion kicks off with Joshua's shocking defeat to Dubois, where many fans express disbelief over his performance. Critics highlight Joshua's form since his losses to Usyk, suggesting that he appeared gun-shy, lacking the aggression needed in the ring. There is a palpable sense of anxiety among the commentators about Joshua's future in the sport, especially considering the multitude of knockdowns he suffered during the fight.12

As the conversation unfolds, opinions diverge on the implications of Joshua's performance. Some argue that this may signal the end of his career, emphasizing the need for him to reassess his approach or contemplate retirement. Others criticize the lack of urgency in his corner, feeling that they should have pulled him from such a one-sided contest earlier.34

The sentiment shifts slightly as fans begin to discuss potential next steps for Joshua. While some believe he may not have the skill set to reclaim his status, others hold out hope for a comeback. Dubois, credited for his impressive performance, raises questions about how Joshua will deal with future matchups against formidable opponents.56

"Dubios destroyed him there. That was a brilliant performance."

"Thought he was going to stage a comeback them ooof."

Fantastic nights boxing.

I hope Wilder doesn't retire. Would love to see him vs Joshua.

I hope he doesn't and I don't think he will. Lots of big fights out there for him he's still a big draw. Getting a title fight again now is a stretch though unless there's a fragmentation somehow. If Fury were to obliterate AJ and Usyk then the fact that Wilder went 30 rounds with him would measure up quite well. He also came so close in both the first and third fights even if he was well beaten in the end.

On Joshua, I'm not sure adding weight is the issue it's that he has no confidence in his chin and he's nervous which leads to him losing stamina, a bit like David Price. He's very lucky to have got to hold the belts after winning them cheap enough. I'd like to see him switch trainer, preferably to Abel Sanchez. Sanchez would be a big addition to his corner

Only an outrageously solid chin saved Wilder from another total humiliation. He looked out on his feet for most of the fight and how he stayed in there that long beggars belief. Credit to him for rallying and landing enough solid shots to remind Fury he was in a fight, but let's be honest, his lack of skills was laid bare as soon as he was hit with a decent shot and his gameplan unravelled in the third. That being said, he is still dangerous with his freakish power and granite chin. I think he'd beat Joshua now but maybe not Usyk.

Just noticed Canelo vs Plant is on BT PPV next week.

Easy win for Canelo?

Canelo KO's Caleb Plant in the 11th round to become the first undisputed super-middleweight champion.

Canelo Alvarez became the first undisputed super-middleweight champion in boxing history after knocking out Caleb Plant in the 11th round on Saturday in Las Vegas. Alvarez, the top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, had his opponent against the ropes and landed a hard left hook to Plant's face. He then followed with a right uppercut that dropped Plant for the first time in his career.

After standing back up, Alvarez, in his words, "went for the kill" and connected on a combination of hard straight lefts and rights before Plant hit the mat again. The referee then waved the bout over.

Alvarez (57-1-2) had a 102-59 edge in power shots landed, per Compubox. Of his 117 landed punches, 53 were to Plant's body. As a result, Plant (21-1) started to wear down in the final rounds, and his fatigue showed late before being finished.

He's just too powerful, I don't really care for him at all but he's a very good boxer I can't deny that.

Crawford - Porter was a really good scrap.

Crawford stops another guy for the first time. He's just awesome. He's smart, skillful and powerful.

Those body shots every round were to soften him up, the switch to southpaw to catch him every time he came in, just incredible intelligence in the ring.

No doubt for me he's the p4p king right now.

Australian George Kambosos Jr stunned American Teofimo Lopez on a split decision in New York to become the unified world lightweight champion.

Lopez was upset, didn't look right from the weigh-in, thought he might scrape a lucky draw as champion in his hometown. Not sure he will rematch as think he looked weight drained

Long-term rivals Amir Khan and Kell Brook will lock horns on 19th February in Manchester to settle the dispute once and for all.

It's finally happening although probably 5 or 6 years too late.

Just watched the Chisora - Parker fight. It was a cracker but the scorecards were very questionable.

Does Parker now get a shot at the big 3/4?
