The critics are about as split as I'm sure fans will be so far. Some calling it a catastrophe and saying it's just reliant on the spectacle/visuals and others saying its not amazing but a good watch.

I enjoyed it, and it feels like it will get better and better. The first episode was definitely better than the second though. Galadriel and Elrond are portrayed well. I wasn't keen on the harfoots at the start but their charm grew on me. Love how good it looks and love the soundtrack.

I'm actually enjoying this far more than Lord of the Rings.

It's building up quite nicely.

I'm finding it enjoyable enough to have watched all 4 episodes. The dialogue is what makes it feel so "not-LOTR" to me.

Decent episode but it is moving quite slowly, imo.

Didn't understand the stuff about Mithril and the elves' mortality. And Galadriel really is terribly written.

I didn't like this episode. Big triumphant music at the end like this was some epic moment but it didn't come across that way to me. I was more relieved that they were getting on with it. I still struggle to care about these characters and I find Galadriel in particular ice-cold.

Really enjoyed the last episode, I feel it is building nicely. Don't think we have seen Sauron yet and not sure we will this season. Lots of great characters already - Durin, Elrond, Halbrand, Gil Galad, Elendil, Arondir.
