The Ryder Cup 2021 Golf

Build up all week then event starting Friday. As ever looks to be a hugely intriguing affair. As it tends to be the Yanks player by player look stronger but they certainly never seem to have that team ethos the Europeans do. Much prefer the event when its played over in America as times suit better for viewing.

Thoughts, predictions etc?

I say this every time, but I can't see us winning.

Statistically, a home team win is likely, isn't it? Six of the last seven have been won by the home side. The crowd will be even more pro-US this time round as there'll be few Europeans there. The Yanks look stronger as individuals but lack experience with six rookies and another three who've only played one Ryder Cup before.

Probably one of the best tournaments in any sport. How quickly things can change is incredible.

Think the yanks will smash us this year. I know they aren't much of a 'team' but when you have 8 of the top 10 in the world in your team you can't discount that.

I agree the US look stronger - on paper - but Europe has won the last 9 out of 12, so I not writing us off at all. Going to be a great tournament.

Don't expect us to come close tbh.

Hope I am wrong but I'd expect an American victory in the region of 16 - 12

Don't really get the pessimism to be honest. Yes, they're stronger on paper, but it's also a Links course, they're full of rookies, and we've beaten them on their patch recently.

My favourite sporting occasion is not going well for Europe in the morning foursomes.

Up against it but Padraig is making it much harder with some inexplicable pairings.

How the heck Casey is going out for the third time this morning is beyond me.
