The first season is showing on BBC 2 and is on iPlayer for anyone who didn't see it when it was first on a couple of years ago.

It is a fictionalized account of Captain Sir John Franklin's lost expedition of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror to the Arctic, in 1845–1848, to force the Northwest Passage

Based on a novel by Dan Simmons and decent cast including Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies & Ciaran Hinds.

Saw it a couple of years back when it first came out, bit of a slow burner but worth a watch.

Watched it last year. I love "grounded" shows and so, without spoiling anything, it goes a bit "fantasy" towards the last couple of episodes which totally ruined it for me.

Jared Harris's role in this is very similar to his role in Chernobyl. Excellent actor and loving this.
