Tottenham Hotspur have sacked head coach Thomas Frank.

The 52-year-old leaves Spurs 14th in the Premier League, having won none of their last eight league games and just two from their last 17. The north London club are five points above the relegation zone.

Frank's last league match in charge was Tuesday's 2-1 home defeat by Newcastle United. Under the Dane, Spurs finished fourth in the Champions League league phase, as they advanced to the last-16 stage.

Hardly surprising given their league position.

It was inevitable.

They have had Conte to rip into players, Mourinho to make them feel special, Ange to let them play like they were in a playground kickabout, and Frank to show them how to take or defend set pieces. They all failed and failed miserably at that. The common denominator is the players.

Igor Tudor has been appointed interim coach.

Tudor has built a reputation as a coach who thrives under pressure, often stepping in when clubs find themselves in dire situations. Throughout his career, he has been called upon to rescue teams on the brink of disaster. His track record showcases a remarkable ability to turn around struggling teams, as seen during his stints with Udinese, Hellas Verona, and, most recently, Juventus.

Tudor's recent appointment at Tottenham comes at a critical juncture for the club. With injuries and pressure mounting, he is tasked with the challenge of instilling a winning mentality reminiscent of his Juventus days. The club's philosophy, "winning isn't important, it's the only thing that counts," aligns perfectly with Tudor's approach. His ability to adapt and utilise the resources available to him will be crucial as he attempts to navigate Tottenham through this challenging period.
