Liverpool are set to sign Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan deal.

They have been in the market for a new central defender after Ibrahima Konate left Anfield at the end of his contract to join Real Madrid as a free agent.

Araujo would tick that box and also provide cover at right-back for Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley, whose knee injury is set to continue sidelining him for the opening months of the 2026-27 season.

A deal is being finalised for coveted Sporting CP centre-back at €40m. The 22 year old Ivory Coast international expected to travel tonight and do a medical before joining Nottingham Forest on 5 year contract.

Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah are in advanced talks over a move for Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

Talks between the two clubs and between Al Qadsiah and the player are ongoing and despite a focus on the Saudi club's season opener later on Thursday there is hope a deal can be closed in the coming days.
