What do you watch when you're stressed, tired or just don't want to have to concentrate too hard?

My current favourite is Still Game on Netflix. Two old codgers in Scotland. A bit of a Killinaskully vibe but funnier. Probably quite dated in its humour (not very PC at times) but easy watching.

The Office (US version). I loved the UK version when it was out but only came across US version during covid. Absolutely love it. If I'm home alone I'll rewatch it. I've gone through the entire 9 series a few times now. Sometimes I just listen to it if I'm having a snooze on the couch and I know exactly what is happening, which is worrying!

The Repair Shop.

Such a "feel good" show. Some of the work they carry out is outstanding and hearing the stories about the items and seeing how much it means to the owner once restored is really great.

Scrubs, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Frasier for comic relief.

I would also sooner rewatch a specific episode of a show I have seen a few times before than go through the rigmarole of starting a new series. Examples being 'Garveys at their Best' from the Leftovers, any of the Gyp Rossetti episodes in Boardwalk Empire, and the peak era of Game of Thrones.

Any documentaries with David Attenborough - Planet Earth, Blue Planet, Our Planet, Dynasties etc - all fantastic and visually stunning.

Silverback Apprentice
Myself and Mrs Silverback recently finished all 15 seasons of ER via the All4 Player. I'd dipped in and out of it during its original run. The first few seasons are incredibly good but the later seasons had definitely become a bit of a soap opera. Still, good background viewing while doing other stuff.

Since we've finished it, we've decided to do the same with The X-Files since they have it too, and again, it was a series I never got to watch consistently during its original run and have never re-watched.

NCIS episodes season 1-10 are all mostly good. Nice harmless stuff. It really went downhill for me after Ziva left it.

For really easy going, relaxed don't have to think telly, two programmes spring to mind. One is the Repair Shop and two Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I think its hilarious.

I like Pointless and House of Games, also have a weakness for The Chase.

George Clarke's property programmes can be good too.

Probably spend more time on YouTube than watching TV these days though.
