He started last season really well. He's clearly a talented player but his knees are made of glass. Hopefully whatever else the surgery helps him health wise in the long term.

I don't really follow Barcelona or La Liga but why is Xavi getting so much criticism?
Yes, they are probably out of the title race this season but they are still third and in the knockout stage of CL. Most importantly, they won the title last season, their first in 4 years, against a very strong Real Madrid team, and against the odds given the shitty position Barcelona was in.
"Legend" is probably used too loosely in football… Beckenbauer WAS a legend.
This will fail. Surely only Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested? I say let them have their own super league.

Steve Clarke has been the best Scotland manager for a long time, probably since Craig Brown or Walter Smith.

The United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland have been announced as hosts of the 2028 European Championship.
The UEFA executive committee gave the green light to the five-nation bid at a UEFA meeting in Switzerland on Tuesday. The bid ran unopposed after Turkey withdrew from the bidding process last week.
The UK and Republic of Ireland tournament will be played at ten different stadiums across the five nations. Six of the venues are in England, with one each from Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The six in England are Wembley, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Etihad Stadium, St James’ Park, Villa Park and Everton’s proposed new home at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Sad news - Scottish football is poorer for having lost him.
I've fond memories of watching his Scotland teams at the Euros in 1996 and the World Cup in 1998, and in 1998 I remembered the euphoria and the buzz around the whole country as a result of his work. Some might have decried his style of play as being too defensive, but he knew how to get the best out of his teams and gave us a Scotland team that was worth shouting about.
They brought in former Real Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola a few hours after dismissing O'Neil. Interesting choice and might be big success or epic fail but either way O'Neil has been harshly treated.
It was expected by many that City would roll over Inter. They didn’t, largely due to Inter’s combination of tactical setup, commitment, and a few excellent individual performances. They stopped City’s usual flow. But until the last 12-15 minutes, Inter were not dangerous, and City defended very comfortably. There was never a moment in that match where I thought: “Inter might snatch this”.
Very happy for Moyes. Whatever happens after now, he goes away as a winner.
