My God that's gorgeous looking. Was not expecting a complete rebuild like that. Anyone who hasn't played it is in for a treat. Even the race track section looks class!

At around 14 minutes the narrator says there is more than 20 missions in all. Is that a pretty low number for an open world game or is it just me?

It's not an open-world game by today's standards though. It's got an open world, but you follow a fairly linear narrative. Assuming it's anything like the original.

It's a fantastic narrative though, so no collectables is just fine with me.

Quality over quantity, the story is fantastic, doesn't overstay it's welcome so it's nice they aren't neddlessly filling it out.

I CANNOT wait to play the hotel mission again, absolutely fantastic where it ends up and links back to a mission you did previously such great writing.

I hope they make this race as hard as balls to keep it authentic to the original

From an interview with Hangar 13's President and Chief Creative Officer, Haden Blackman who noted the inclusion of a 'Classic Mode'.

"It has all the settings dialed into what the experience was like if you've played the original Mafia. so that's great for the hardcore fans to experience the game at that level with the same driving controls, the police reacting to your infractions the same way. And then we go all the way to experience the story, you can dial all that stuff back"

I was seriously considering starting the original Mafia over the summer, but after seeing screenshots and footage of the remake I think I'll wait.

Looking great! Few hands-on previews doing the rounds. IGN confirms the race level is still annoying and requires near flawless driving for 3 laps against ai who don't make mistakes.
