England are through to the World Cup Final after beating co-hosts Australia 3-1.

This is really impressive by England. Building momentum in just the right way. They handle injuries and suspensions, do exactly enough and a convincing win in the semi final. Having beaten Ireland, Canada, Denmark and France, full of confidence and motivation, Australia was well beaten in their own back yard.

This is going to be a really interesting final between England and Spain.

Indeed it has. This tournament has brought women's football another step forward. Size of the crowds, plenty of surprises etc.

England's experience is showing throughout the tournament. Not the most attractive team to watch but they have a top coach, some excellent forwards, and are very clinical. They were pre-tournament joint favourites so this is good.

Spain will be a very tough match I think.

It just wasn't enough but what a goal by Sam Kerr! She really is a superstar.

Sweden beat Australia in the 3rd place match.

The romantic part of me wanted to see Australia win this third place play off but Sweden were the better team and they deserved it.

Best team won despite the antics towards the end.

Was hoping that England could win it, but Spain was comfortable the better team on the day. They smothered England very well, and controlled the game well.

Deserved victory for the Spanish.

Sadly England didn't control the midfield and therefore created few goal scoring opportunities.

I thought Spain outplayed them in the Euros too, although England eventually won the game. They looked fitter and more technical than the English, imo, in both matches.
