US President Joe Biden has given the green light for Ukraine to use long-range missiles supplied by the US to strike Russia, according to US media reports.

There is no formal confirmation by the White House or the Pentagon of the move which would be a major change of US policy.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has been urging for months for these restrictions on long-range missiles to be lifted, allowing Ukraine to target locations inside Russia.

This should have been authorised months ago.
It took a long time but following Putin getting North Korea involved and the huge strikes across Ukraine last night it couldn't go on with Putin slaughtering non-stop.

About time.

This belief Russia could not be attacked and only allowed to be the aggressor was madness.

Has any country in history won a war by defence methods only?

The idea, I assume, will allow Ukraine to strike military sites to stop the ability of Russia to strike harder.

Today, Donald Trump has warned Putin if he doesn't come to a settlement the US will increase sanctions. How effective this will be is questionable, given a) there's not much left to sanction and b) Putin actually needs to prolong the war for his survival; but, whether as a result of his own thinking or someone else's lobbying (or both), Trump so far isn't planning to give Putin a free pass.

Surely this cannot happen or be allowed to happen?

That's another ridiculous "plan". I cannot see Kyiv being amenable, as nothing to stop future Russian expansion
It's a Putin win, not a peace plan.
