I've watched the majority of the first 4 premier league games since the restart and one thing that blatantly stands out is how flipping awful the referees are in England. They are horrific. I actually think the standard has lowered despite the lack of pressure from having no crowds at the games.

Bruno Fernandes looks quite the player. Been very impressed with him since his move to Old Trafford.

Some finish to the Watford v Leicester match. Stunning goal by Ben Chilwell.

If Man United had won last night the pressure would be right on Leicester for the Champions League spot. Before the lockdown, I reckoned Leicester were in real danger of finishing outside the top 4 and only for others not stepping up I'd stand by that.

It was an outside chance anyway but Arsenal are now gone from the top 4 challenge. Wolves, however, are very much in with a chance of qualifying.

West Ham are in a bad way. I can see why Karen Brady was pushing to void the league. West Ham are so poor, and in deep trouble now.

You could the same if Sheff Utd weren't cheated out of a goal that they would be putting pressure on Man U, Chelsea and Leicester.

I'd hate to see Bournemouth go down but they look in real trouble now too. It could be a fight between them and West Ham for the last relegation spot as I feel Norwich and Villa are already doomed.

Impressive stuff from Newcastle, albeit Sheff United are down to 10 men. Surely they will stick with Bruce if the takeover finally goes through?

You'd like to think so, wouldn't you? He has done a decent job for Newcastle. Apparently there has been another offer submitted by the CEO of US TV company Clear TV, Henry Mauriss.

Not much happening in the Merseyside derby so far.

I have to say the two water breaks are a farce. The games are all at a pretty poor level anyway and the water breaks just kills the momentum, then throw the 5 subs in and it is a bit of a joke,

Surely just one or the other would have been grand

It's because it's the only time they're allowed to take on water, due to the virus/sharing bottles etc. Nobody really notices how often players take on water during a game normally - when there's a corner they'll take from the keepers bottle, take from the bottles on the sideline when there's a throw-in, take from the physio when he comes on etc... none of that is allowed now, so 45 mins without water is probably deemed too long. Also, they probably anticipated the weather being quite warm in June etc.
