Rockstar Games has officially announced the much-anticipated launch of Red Dead Redemption on December 2nd, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile devices via Netflix. This news follows an ESRB rating that hinted at the re-release.
For players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the remastered version promises significantly enhanced graphics, including HDR support, up to 4K resolution, and a smooth 60 FPS. The Nintendo Switch 2 will also enjoy similar enhancements, featuring DLSS and mouse control options.
One of the most appealing aspects for existing players is the ability to upgrade digitally for free if they own the PS4 or Switch versions. Xbox One users will also benefit from this, allowing seamless continuation of their game from previous saves on PlayStation and Switch.
However, it's worth noting that this re-release will not include multiplayer modes or DLC, focusing instead on delivering the complete single-player experience from the Game of the Year Edition.
