Just been officially announced. If parliament approves England will be in lockdown from next Thursday (5th Nov) until 2nd December. Schools will remain open though as will things like construction and manufacturing industries.According to The Times, a national lockdown is being considered for England.....possibly as early as next Wednesday.
If covid rules force temporary business closures anywhere in the UK, the same furlough payments and assistance should apply. Seems obvious. Either that or allow the devolved powers borrowing rights so they can fund it themselves.Nicola Sturgeon has said that they are looking for details on the furlough extension, asking if it's flexible or if it's a hard stop at the end of November.
