Off to Edinburgh next week for the Bruce Springsteen gig at Murrayfield.

It has been a while since I visited the capital. Any restaurant or bar recommendations for decent places to go on the pop or get some food?

Absolutely! Edinburgh is an amazing city with so much to offer. Here are some recommendations based on what you've asked for:

    Landmarks:
    - Edinburgh Castle: This is a must-see landmark that is steeped in history. You can explore the castle and learn about its important role in Scottish history.
    - Arthur's Seat: This is the highest point in the city and offers stunning panoramic views of Edinburgh. It's a great place to go for a hike and take in the scenery.
    - The Royal Mile: This is a famous street in the city that stretches from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace. It's lined with historic buildings and landmarks, and it's a great place to walk and take in the sights.

    Food:
    - Oink: This is a great spot for some authentic Scottish fast food. They specialize in pulled pork sandwiches, and they're delicious!
    - The Devil's Advocate: This is a great spot for a fancy dinner or drinks. The cocktails are amazing, and the food is equally impressive.
    - Mary's Milk Bar: If you're in the mood for something sweet, this ice cream spot is amazing. They make everything in-house and have a variety of flavors to choose from.

    Things to Do:
    - The Edinburgh Dungeon: This is a fun and interactive experience where you learn about some of Edinburgh's spookier history.
    - The National Museum of Scotland: This museum is a great place to learn about the country's history and culture.
    - The Royal Botanic Garden: If you're in the mood for something more relaxing, this is a great spot to take a walk and enjoy the beautiful gardens.

    Neighborhoods:
    - Old Town: This is the historic heart of the city. It's full of narrow, winding streets and old, historic buildings. It's a great spot to explore if you're interested in the city's history.
    - New Town: This neighborhood is full of elegant Georgian buildings and upscale shops and restaurants. It's a great spot to go for a fancy night out.

    Nearby Areas:
    - Portobello: This is a beachside suburb of the city that's fun to explore. It has a lively boardwalk and a variety of shops and restaurants.
    - Glasgow: If you're up for a day trip, Glasgow is only a short train ride away. It's a vibrant city with plenty to see and do.

Of course, my apologies! Here are some restaurant and bar recommendations:

    Restaurants:
    - The Witchery by the Castle: This is an upscale restaurant located near Edinburgh Castle. It has a gothic atmosphere and the menu features Scottish cuisine with a modern twist.
    - The Kitchin: This Michelin-starred restaurant specializes in seasonal Scottish cuisine. It's located in the Leith neighborhood, which is also worth exploring.
    - The Scran & Scallie: This is a cozy gastropub that serves classic Scottish dishes using local, seasonal ingredients.

    Bars:
    - The Bow Bar: This is a classic Scottish pub that's been around since the 1800s. They have a great selection of whiskey and beer, and it's a cozy spot to hang out.
    - Bramble: This speakeasy-style cocktail bar is known for its creative concoctions. It's a bit hidden away, but well worth the effort to find it.
    - Panda & Sons: This bar has a quirky, retro vibe and serves up delicious cocktails. It's located behind a barbershop, so keep an eye out for the entrance!

I hope these suggestions are helpful. Enjoy your trip and the Springsteen concert!
