Advantage City it has to be said

Very surprised at the results yesterday. There will be more points dropped before the end of the season...maybe even next weekend after another round of European matches midweek. The league isn't over but it is advantage City.

Cole Palmer is having some season. Chelsea have been relatively poor most of the season but he has been one of the league's standout players.

Bagged himself 4 goals against Everton tonight.

Embarrassing tweet by Notts Forest after the defeat by Everton.

Regardless of the validity of the penalty claims in the game, that is a mind-boggling and embarrassing official club communication, and reads like it was written by an angry fan. "Our patience has been tested multiple times" is laughable.

I might be remembering wrongly but didn't Forest themselves benefit from some dodgy VAR decisions when they faced Huddersfield in their promotion playoff in 2022?

I don't agree with what Forest did but the honest truth is the referees and VAR have been real weak all season.

I think every club has basically had at least one huge howler. After watching the highlights I think only the third Forest claim was actually a penalty but it is those decisions that are getting people ticked off. Eventually it will cost a club a league survival or top 4 entry and that club will probably go nuclear (aka the courts).

It looks like Liverpool's title hopes have been ended after losing 2-0 at Goodison Park to city rivals Everton.

It leaves the 3 points behind Arsenal who thumped Chelsea 5-0 the previous night in what was marked as a potential banana skin for the Gunners.

Man City are 4 points behind Arsenal but have 2 games in hand.

Arne Slot will be the new Liverpool head coach replacing Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.

Feyenoord and Liverpool have agreed a deal along with all contract details for Arne Slot.

A new era at Liverpool.

Michael Edwards making the biggest bet of his career. All the signs are very positive but only time will tell if it is a massive step up for Slot.

Liverpool lost more ground this weekend so it now looks like a fight between Arsenal and Man City for the title.

Arsenal overcame their North London rivals Tottenham today, a good game with a little controversy throwing into the mix via VAR.

Man City did what they had to do against Notts Forest without being spectacular - although all they need to do is win their remaining games and the title will stay in the blue half of Manchester.

Aston Villa and Tottenham are still battling for the last Champions League spot.

At the bottom, Everton are safe after winning again and Sheffield United are officially relegated. Burnley managed a draw at Old Trafford and are just two points from safety with 3 games remaining

20Sheffield United3537253497-6316

Remaining fixtures

Arsenal: Bournemouth (H), Man United (A), Everton (H)
Man City: Wolves (H), Fulham (A), West Ham (H), Tottenham (A)
Liverpool: Tottenham (H), Aston Villa (A), Wolves (H)

Aston Villa: Brighton (A), Liverpool (H), Crystal Palace (A)
Tottenham: Liverpool (A), Burnley (H), Sheffield United (A), Chelsea (A), Man City (H)

Notts Forest: Sheffield United (A), Chelsea (H), Burnley (A)
Luton: Everton (H), West Ham (A), Fulham(H)
Burnley: Newcastle (H), Tottenham (A), Notts Forest (H)

Man City have struggled against Wolves, West Ham and Tottenham in the past so Arsenal will still hope although they have to face Man United at Old Trafford.

Massive tie at the bottom on the last day between Burnley and Notts Forest but Burnley may already be down by then if they can't take points off Newcastle or Tottenham and Forest can beat relegated Sheffield United.

I think Arsenal will pip City. I thought they would have fallen away like Liverpool have but they have been relentless in the run-in. City have a few tough games left though I don't imagine Tottenham will put up too much of a fight if Arsenal could win the title through that result.

Sadly, I think Burnley will go down along with Luton which is a shame because they have both been involved in some fantastic games and really given it a go against teams they have no right to bother.
