Once again Man City are the reigning Champions and will be looking to win the title for the fifth straight season but with a FFP/PSR case looming will a guilty verdict derail their season?

There will be new teams, new managers, and new players aplenty this season.

Let's have your news, views, and discussions on the Premier League 2024-25 season.

Erik ten Hag has signed a one-year extension to his contract as Manchester United men's first team manager.

The Dutchman's deal was due to run out at the end of the 2024-25 season, but his new contract will now run until 2026.

Ten Hag added: "We must also be clear that there is still lots of hard work ahead to reach the levels expected of Manchester United, which means challenging for English and European titles."

Man United kick-off the Premier League season with a 1-0 victory against Fulham at Old Trafford.

Zirkzee coming off the bench to score the only goal of the game in the 87th minute. Good goal. A fair result on balance of play but Man United midfield doesn't look great and Rashford would still worry me.

Terrible start to the season for Everton. They have no quality about them just a lot of huffing and puffing.

This is just totally insane. Do the Chelsea owners know what they are doing?

Raheem Sterling left out the Chelsea squad today, his team have released a statement

"Raheem Sterling is contracted to Chelsea Football Club for the next three years," it reads.

"He returned to England two weeks early to conduct individual training, and has had a positive pre-season under the new coach, who he has developed a good working relationship with.

"He is committed, as ever, to delivering at the highest level for Chelsea FC and the fans, who he holds in high regard, and given his inclusion in official club pre-match material this week, our expectation was that Raheem would be involved in this weekend's fixture in some capacity.

"As a camp, we have always had positive dialogue with, and assurance from, Chelsea FC in relation to Raheem's future at the club, so we look forward to gaining clarity on the situation.

"Until then, we will continue to support Raheem's desire to start the new season positively."

Really enjoyed the Brentford v Crystal Palace game. Two evenly matched teams. Palace didn't deserve to lose.

Basic win for Man City against Chelsea who desperately need a decent striker.

City will be happy with the 3 points. Foden, Akanji and De Bruyne look well off the pace and they were also without the injured Rodri.

Catching up on MOTD. How many goals have been given away this week, by mistakes when trying to play out the back? If you don't have the players with the technical ability to do so, then don't do it.

Slow start to the season with so many players still recovering from the Euros, Copa and Olympics.

Jamie Vardy scores to earn Leicester a 1-1 draw with Spurs af the King Power.

Spurs look like the Spurs of last season on this showing. Pretty football but not very effective and weak at the back. They really should have won this easily after a strong first half.

Everton are in a mess. Even this early in the season they look like relegation candidates.
