gameplay updates bugs community feedback

Initial excitement surrounded Forza Motorsport's launch with players eager about the return of the franchise. The introduction of over 500 cars and a variety of tracks, including many classics, generated buzz within the community, as glimpsed in early gameplay footage and track reveals. Some players expressed optimism about the new campaign features and racing mechanics, citing high expectations for a polished experience.12

As discussions progressed, feedback shifted dramatically. Reports emerged of significant bugs, particularly related to the upgrade system, causing frustration among players. Issues like crashing during gameplay and lost career progress were voiced, leading to mixed reactions where anticipation turned into disappointment for some as they struggled with core gameplay functionalities.34

Subsequent updates aimed to address the concerns raised, with players hopeful that Turn 10 would prioritize stability fixes. However, many users still voiced skepticism regarding the effectiveness of these updates, leaving the community in a stage of cautious optimism as new patch notes circulated and discussions about future enhancements continued to unfold.56

"The upgrade system is absolutely awful."

"Update 1.0 is out. Solid list of fixes but..."

Verdict

Overall, while Forza Motorsport launched with significant enthusiasm, post-launch feedback reveals substantial issues that still need resolution. Many players are left hopeful for improvements but frustrated by current technical challenges.

Looking forward to this one. Been a while since we had a Forza Motorsport title.

Out on the 10th of October for Xbox Series S, Series X and PC.

The game contains 500+ cars and 20 tracks.

The Builders Cup sounds interesting. I'd like a good campaign.

We also have a new track reveal

Still seems buggy even after the patch?
The game crashes (infinite loading loop) when applying upgrades and you lose some progress you had made previously. It happened to me 3 times after a race and took me back to the beginning of the series I was playing. And, of course, it stops you from applying upgrades to your car.

Still seems buggy even after the patch?
This also happened to me 3 times during the Sedan Series.

I've set the drivatar level at 8, full difficulty with no flashbacks etc and always a start position of 12, so it is quite a challenge (for me) to win races. I finished 3rd in the USA twice and 2nd in a rainy UK and each time the game crashed and needed a hard reset after applying upgrades.

I eventually finished 4th in both races and completed the series without any upgrades.

Really annoying bug! I'm still hugely disappointed with this game.

Update 2 will also be Forza Motorsport's first content update for the game. It will begin rolling out to players in mid-November and will add the new track location, Yas Marina. Turn 10 says it also has "over 200 fixes lined up for this release," some of which have been detailed below:

Turn 10 Studios has announced Update 3 will arrive next week for Xbox Series X|S and PC and will be followed by Update 4 in "mid-January" 2024.

This time around racers can look forward to the iconic Hockenheim track (including three unique layouts), new Spotlight cars, new Featured Multiplayer series and Rivals events. Here's the entire rundown of everything that will be included in Update 3, courtesy of the official Forza website:

Update 3 will be available to download on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PCs and Steam starting early next week. Live content will begin to light up across the Career, Featured Multiplayer and Rivals from December 14, 2023.

New fixes coming in Update 3 will continue to improve the overall stability and performance of the game, alleviating some of the issues we're seeing players report most frequently on our community channels. The team is constantly hard at work on bugs, some of which are not immediately visible to players but are critical for game stability for all players.

Below you can find the highlights of what will be fixed or improved upon in Update 3. We'll share the full release notes next week on the Forza Support website once the update rolls out.
 • Fixed issue in which the Driver Level visually appeared to reset to Level 1 after downloading Update 2 and entering Test Drive in Free Play.
 • Rebalanced the impact on front and rear downforce when being drafted by another car.
 • Fixed issue causing custom wheel input layouts to reset to their default settings after relaunching the game with both a controller and steering wheel connected to the PC or console.
 • Fixed issue which allowed players to sell their Builders Cup reward cars, preventing them from reobtaining the cars and completing their associated Reward Showcases.
We continue to put a focus on raising our overall quality on PC, as we know we have more work to do there. Here are some of the PC-specific improvements coming in Update 3:
 • Stability and performance are improved on lower spec PCs.
 • Fixed various random crashes in multiplayer races specifically on PCs with AMD GPUs.
 • Reduced the occurrence of a bug where the track or other objects becomes invisible while racing.
We've also introduced new options in the Screen Narrator section of the Accessibility settings menu to narrate your race position and driver names ahead and behind you.

Forza Motorsport Update 6.0 Release Notes – March 11, 2024

In the latest update, we have made significant changes to Car Progression to give you the freedom to equip the parts you want to install on your car regardless of Car Level.

Following the addition of Daytona to our track list in Update 4, we've heard your feedback and have changed the pit lane exit to address track-rejoin collisions and more closely reflect the track as it is used in real life events.

This update will also include additional lighting options for the livery editor, and numerous fixes and experience improvements to the overall stability of the game.

Quite a lot of fixes in the full changelog:
New Content, Features and Events [All Platforms]
Car Progression Changes
 • We have removed the level restriction on performance parts, making them all available at Car Level 1. This allows players to install parts in any order they wish.
 • Players can use in-game Credits to acquire Car Points when exiting the upgrade screen at a ratio of 4,500 Credits for 500 Car Points. This change gives you a choice to immediately upgrade your car using Credits, or if you're saving your Credits, you can earn Car Points for upgrades through car leveling as before.
Homespace
 • 8 new music tracks have been added to the game, composed by Kaveh Cohen and Michael Nielsen, and Peter Holmstrom, and these can be heard in the Homespace environment.
