Yeah I'd say that secretly Barca are happy that this came out. The world knows that they are in a very very bad position financially. And now, it looks that the main reason that they are in such a poor position is because of the massive wages that Messi is earning.
Obviously being the best player that has played the game deserves a massive pay deal, but this is another level. Other top players at Barca took a big pay cut this year. I'm not sure if Messi did or not?
The way it's being painted now at the moment, if Messi does leave on a free transfer this summer, Barca fans will know that the club will be in a much more stable financial position. Or at least that is what can be sold by the club at least.
