President Trump, in a new post on Truth Social on Sunday night, accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of having gone "absolutely" crazy and said if he did not stop what he was doing, it would lead to the downfall of his country.

Ukraine launched the attack on 40 bomber aircraft across multiple bases in Russia over the weekend. Drones were smuggled into the country and launched remotely. It is one of the most audacious Ukrainian special operations since the start of Vladimir Putin's war more than three years ago - and it is a huge breach of Russia's national defences.

Today, Ukraine's security service has just said it has hit a bridge to Crimea with underwater explosives.

In a post on X, the SBU also shared a video showing a blast at the Kerch Bridge.

The operation was a result of "several months" of work, the SBU said, adding mines were detonated at 4.44am this morning without civilian casualties. Russian media had earlier reported the bridge was closed, but did not give a reason why.

"The underwater supports of the pillars were severely damaged at the bottom level," the SBU said.

Donald TRump had a conversation with Putin today that lasted an hour and 15 minutes.

He said the pair discussed Ukraine's attack on multiple airbases deep inside Russia over the weekend and revealed that Putin said he would have to respond to the attack.

Trump referred to the call as a "good conversation" but said it was not one that will lead to "immediate peace"...

I suspect the Ukrainians came to the conclusion that Trump wouldn't be on their side a year ago, before he even got elected, if you look at their actions (Kursk, Spiderweb etc), not the official rhetoric, whose aim is to

• Get as much of what was promised delivered
• Try to prevent Trump helping Putin

It's quite clear their strategy has been to get European countries more involved and grow domestic industries, both of which they have been successful in.

They know that Putin is just stringing along Trump with "negotiations"

Any interviews with Ukrainians (especially soldiers) on Ukraine, the Latest or Ukrainecast pods or TV news, they just shrug at the Trump circus and keep grinding the meat

Russia has acknowledged its attacks in Ukraine overnight.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Defence, Moscow said its forces struck Ukraine in response to "terrorist acts".

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said three people have been killed - all rescue workers - with 49 injured, though these figures may rise.

Kyiv's mayor Vitali Klitschko said earlier four people had died in the capital, though Ukrainian officials now say the figure stands at three.

"Tonight, in response to the terrorist acts of the Kyiv regime, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive strike with high-precision long-range air, sea and land-based weapons, as well as attack UAVs, on design bureaus, enterprises for the production and repair of weapons and military equipment of Ukraine, workshops for the assembly of attack drones, training centres for flight personnel, as well as warehouses of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The goal of the strike was achieved. All designated objects were hit."

Russia's attacks against Ukraine have intensified in the last two months, with Moscow launching several record-breaking mass strikes against Kyiv and other cities.

Ukraine's air defences have consistently intercepted a majority of the drones, but civilian casualties and infrastructure damage remain significant.

Last night's aerial attack on Ukraine - which included 472 drones and missiles - was the fourth-largest of the war so far, based on the figures reported by Kyiv's air force.

This would have been much bigger news a month ago. I'm afraid that Putin will use the Iran/Israel situation as a distraction to increase attacks in Ukraine without the same scrutiny.

Some major developments today after some relentless bombing of Ukraine by over the past few weeks.

Donald Trump has said he has made a deal to sell weapons to NATO to help Ukraine.

The US president said he was going to be sending "top of the line weapons" to NATO, which will then be able to send them on to Ukraine.

"We've made a deal today where we are going to be sending them weapons, and they're going to be paying for them," he said.

Trump said NATO members, not American taxpayers, would cover the cost of the weapons.

The war has "got to stop", he added. "This is billions of dollars worth of military equipment which is going to be purchased from the United States, going to NATO, and that's going to be quickly distributed to the battlefield."

He said Patriot missile batteries will be sent "within days" and "will start arriving soon".

Donald Trump has threatened Russia with new tariffs if it doesn't strike a deal to end the Ukraine war within 50 days.

Speaking at the White House alongside NATO secretary general Mark Rutte, he said he was "very unhappy" with Moscow.

Trump threatened "severe tariffs" of "about 100%", which he called "secondary tariffs", if there isn't a deal within 50 days.

I'm not sure the threat of new tariffs will bother Russia too much but supplying weapons through NATO is a positive step.
