The post is on-topic but lacks detail about the specific needs or preferences the author has for the speakers, making it harder for the community to provide targeted advice.

Looking at upgrading my current speaker situation at home. I'm fairly naive with technology, the older I get. I'm looking at two options at the moment. Anyone on here have any experience with any of these? Yes, I realise that there are already reviews online, but I'd like some feedback if anyone has experience with either device.

Option 1

Option 2

I heard the Bose one being used before and the sound was simply incredible, but I like the idea that 2 speakers come with the Sonos.

I would recommend Sonos all day long. I've got Sonos but not the Roam. I've got an arc and sub for my TV. A play 5 in the kitchen and bedroom.

Personally I'd go for the Sonos for the best stereo effect.

I have a Bose SoundTouch wi-fi speaker in the kitchen that I mainly use to listen to Spotify on my phone when I'm doing stuff down there. Need a second for full stereo, of course, but the quality is pretty good. Haven't tried their portable, though.

Sonos but mind they are addictive. I've got 2 Play 1's, a Play 3, an Arc for the tv and a Move which is great in the garden. A pair of Roams are next on the list.

Only thing to note with the Roams is that they will need to be on WiFi for stereo effect. They won't have that effect in Bluetooth mode but 9 times out of 10 they will be in WiFi.

Also as you buy more Sonos products it's good to have one hard wired into your router as it creates its own mesh, Sonosnet away from your own network which helps signal etc.

Interesting. Some good thinking on the part of the Sonos engineers. I don't think my Bose even has an Ethernet port (but I haven't looked at the back in a while, either).

Another vote for Sonos. The sound is very good, and the ability to play together/separately from numerous devices (phones) just makes it all very simple.

We've got a Beam then 3 other various Play speakers around the house.

Some frustration with some connectivity, but this is one particular speaker and probably WiFi related.

I had Bose before and I'd say the sound quality is on a par.
