Most people probably already know this but the bodies of those who die climbing Mount Everest are left on the mountain. When there's a period of warm weather some of the ice melts and reveals hidden bodies that have been there for years and climbers pass multiple dead bodies during their climbs

The lion depicted on the front of Lyle's golden syrup and black treacle tins is actually dead, not just lying down napping!

Mr Lyle was very religious and based the logo image on the biblical story where Samson killed a lion, tearing it apart with his bare hands. Bees (also depicted) then used the lion carcass as a hive and produced honey inside it....hence the strapline underneath, "Out of the strong came forth sweetness."

I'm embarrassed to say that I thought red, yellow, orange, and green peppers were all different. Nope, it's just one pepper in various forms of ripeness.

Little wonder I don't participate in the cooking forums

Details of how lightning is formed!!

When there is low pressure, warm air rises. Water vapour is carried up in the cloud by strong internal winds. As this vapour gets higher, it freezes into ice particles. The higher they go, the colder and larger they get.

When they grow large enough, the ice particles are classed as hail which gets heavy enough it starts to fall. As it does, it bashes into the rising ice particles. This transfers electrons from the ice particles to the hail which makes it negatively charged and the ice positively charged. The negatively charged hail collects at the bottom of the cloud and positively charged ice particles at the top.

When there is enough at either side, there is a positive-negative attraction (think magnets), and the electrons rapidly move towards the positive atoms. When they find a path, this causes lightning! So thunderstorms have to contain hail and all hail comes from thunderstorms.

the negatively charged hail at the bottom of a cloud (again, like magnets) also repels the negatively charged atoms from the ground underneath it. The ground underneath a storm will be more positively charged than usual and this imbalance can cause a lightning strike
