Mike Myers was 4th choice to do the voiceover for Shrek. Bill Murray and Nicholas Cage turned down the role and eventually, the filmmakers settled on Chris Farley. Farley died during production having already voiced the majority of the character's role. The filmmakers decided getting someone else to do the last 10% would be in poor taste so hired Myers to do the whole role.
